Pinnacle Bank Arena

If when the NCAA wants to put games in this area it will be Omaha. End of story. Larger arena. Better airport. More hotels. Long history of successfully orchestrating big events.
Omaha bias?

The Pit in NM holds 17k and are hosting in 2012.

Omaha Bias? Call it what you want. When one of the requirements from the NCAA was for Omaha to increase seating to 17,500 that should tell you something. We already know about the hotel thing. We also know that Lincoln isn't that accessable via air. Omaha has many advantages that Lincoln doesn't enjoy. Those are just facts.

The pit holds 17K. Your point? 17 > 14,500

I already posted capacity for this year's sites. The McKale center is the exception to the rule for this season.

Boise usually hosts a regional every so often, and I gotta think they are around the 14,000 mark. I think I've read or heard in the past, the NCAA allows the exceptions, because of the lack of arena's in the Moutain time zone. They don't want to leave that section of the country void of hosting (and they can't play games in Denver and Salt Lake every other year).

With that said, I'd be shocked if the NCAA chose Lincoln over Omaha for hosting. Sure, anything can happen once, I guess. The Des Moines arena opened in 2005, hasn't hosted the NCAA's yet, and I don't even think is in the rotation to host. They sit 20 seats shy of 17.000.

Not to mention in 2008 the NCAA and the participant teams raved about the fact that buses could pull into the convention center and drop of the players, who could get out of the bus and walk into the arena without stepping outside. I don't ever see Lincoln being picked over Omaha for hosting March Madness...
