Defensive end Joe Keels -- a junior college transfer who frankly struggled to the adjustment to major college football this spring -- has had a strong summer and "really changed his body," Keels said.

"He's come a long way," Pelini said. Keels, A.J. Natter, Mick Stoltenberg, Peyton Newell and Sedrick King are the scholarship players expected to contribute in training camp at end. Maliek Collins could move there eventually from time to time, but he won't right now.
