Palmer also ran a 10-yard split of 1.51 seconds. The top split among receivers was 1.46 by TCU's Derius Davis, who also posted a 4.36 in the 40.
Speed is important but not the one and only ingredient to a good receiver. Heck Jerry Rice ran a 4.71 at the combine. I have no clue how good of route runner or blocker Palmer is but I do know his drops at crucial times in games have been mentioned.
