Our Passing Game is Terrible

There's no one to pass it right now and no line to give a qb time.
There is both of those. Its hard to blame a single part of the passing game as the problem. Including the QB. It has to be a synergetic group. You can cover up a certain amount of problems and still be effective but we can't point to a single issue in the passing game that seems to be acceptable. Scheme seems to be questionable, wide receivers seem unable to create separation and/or make aggressive moves to the ball. The line doesn't give the quarterback adequate protection in a consistent manner and quarterbacks don't seem to be on target. How much of the quarterback on target issue is do to the above mentioned deficiencies is hard to tell.

I'll add one more thing to this. The offensive coordinator. I'm not sure I feel the calls are that bad. They just aren't working. Obviously, we as fans, can second guess any play that doesn't work. We certainly have fans who want us to run the ball all the time. This isn't gonna cut it. We need to be throwing the ball on occasions where the defense isn't expecting it and that is often on 1st down. Satterfield might be calling the right plays but doesn't have his guys ready to perform it.

We are in trouble moving into B1G play. Our O is atrocious. No way D can keep up their play, they looked a bit off yesterday as well. Hope the tailgate went well, I didn't get a chance to swing by. Hopefully next year. GBR.
As awful as the West appears to be, we are worse. The good news is that our staff will get to see these teams play live, in real time. Hopefully they see what is needed to success and recruit accordingly. I hate our OC play calling.

Agree for the most part of the first statement, I do think play calling is tied to the talent we do/don't have. He doesn't have much to work with. GBR

Satt needs to realize that he basically has the worst of the 80's NU offenses and his passing game needs to be off the option, play-action and RPOs. NU doesn't have ANY of the personnel to drop back and throw. Line can't pass block, we don't have throwing QBs and the WR room is pedestrian at best. The passing game needs to be off getting the defenses to look run first and try to get more quick-hitters going.

The good news is that they didn’t have turnovers and were able to adjust to find things that worked.

Our passing game is terrible. We don't have any wide receivers that stretch a defense. For the life of me, I don't understand why we aren't letting our talented freshmen receivers play.

We will not be able to run against Michigan like we have against La. Tech. and NIU. We HAVE to develop a better passing game.
I’ve wondered why, I see freshman playing all over the country, but rarely, at Nebraska, and especially at receiver. I mean, where is Malachi Coleman at? He was a top 10 WR. Where is all the speed Rhule brought in?

Tommie Frazier needs to come give a lesson on how to run the option. When our QB takes the snap and turns 360° and fakes to the FB, he isn’t even there. Who you faking to? Running it right and timing matters. It looks funny and off, but it’s been amazingly effective. I’ve also yet to see a pitch to the trailing TB. Haarberg looks like he’s in slow motion running it, and he looks slow, but seemingly, he’s deceptively fast, especially when he gets going. Those holes will be smaller, and faster to close next week. Going to most definitely need a passing game, and not just for Michigan.

We seem to to be somewhat efficient at bringing in 4* types and then never seeing them again.

Other teams bring in 4* type freshmen...... and they play.

Many times very well.

Weird.

Been saying that for years. I’m told it takes time to develop them.
