Watched Kansas Blow-by Washington 61-36 (Attendance: 7,229), last night in the WNIT Semi-finals, on their way to the Championship game vs Columbia. It was announced at the conclusion that the final game would also be @ the "Phog;" news to the Kansas coach, who immediately credited KU Admin for their support. (Kansas will have played all Five games at Home).
After beating us 64-55 (Phog Attendance: 3,730), Kansas put away Arkansas 78-64 (Attendance: 4,806) on the way.
I can't help but think that could have been Nebraska. While we never led in the game, they weren't able to put us away either. We were within striking distance the whole game; and that without the services of Sam Haiby, injured in the Northern Iowa game (PBA Attendance: 6,478) ,or for that matter, Alison Weidner, who incurred a season-ending injury in our prior game vs Kansas.
Might the outcome have been different had we played @ PBA.
