Bob Brown passes away at the age of 81. :(

The NFL community lost a legend this week. Pro Football Hall of Famer Bob Brown passed away Friday at the age of 81.

Brown’s wife, Cecelia, said he passed away peacefully at a rehabilitation center. He was admitted to the center in April after suffering a stroke.

Brown played college football at Nebraska before becoming a game-changing offensive lineman in the NFL. After spending the first five seasons of his pro career with the Eagles, he spent multiple years on the Rams and Raiders.

I will never forget listening to a game on the radio with my Dad and Lyell Bremser said something like "Nice block by number 64" and Dad said way to go, Bob Brown. I was impressed that he knew names and numbers of players. Something that has always stuck in my memory.

'69 was the year I became an LA Rams fan. I was 10 yo. Thought it was so cool a guy from Nebraska was on that team.

Trivia: Brown was born the day after Pearl Harbor.

Bob Brown was the start of really huge giant lineman imo. In 63 he was playing at around 260 at 6’5” which was considered huge back then. In NFL was around 280+ which again was bigger then most. The difference was Brown could carry that weight and was super quick for his size and weight. He really was a terror that few liked playing againt. Rest in peace... big guy!
