Nebraska has a chance to do something crazy and shock the world. looking for some positivity and sunshine? here goes:
1. The 56-7 scoreline is honestly not an indication of who Nebraska is as a team. if you watch the tape, nebraska played bad, but not 56-7 bad. They were beaten and schemed and outcoached soundly, but the truth is indiana is really not 49 points better than nebraska. They got 28 points off turnovers, and many short fields.
2. The defense is still good to great. they still need to fix their eye discipline and tackling issues, but i would look for Nebraska to at least cover.
3. Matt Rhule over his career has a poor record coming off bye weeks. i was hoping indiana would be the week where he fixed that, but it wasn't. i'm chalking our performance partly to that. we should see a much better team this week. i believe they will play loose.
4. We've got Ohio state where we want them. they think we suck :cool:. they'll never see it coming when we smack them in the mouth. let's go! #beatosu!!

If we cover the spread, I'll be a lot more optimistic about the remaining 4 games and our chances of bowling.

i really think we will for a few reasons: first of all, Ryan Day is a known commodity for Rhule, a Rhule coached team won't have 2 letdowns in a row, and i know Rhule will pay more attention to the offense this week.
edited: plus the spread is 25.5 points on esecpn tight now with an O/U of 48.5. A scoreline of somewhere around 38-13 seems less likely with the way both teams will want to play, and how nebraska will look to bounce back on defense.

Ohio State should do a lot of the same things we saw from Indiana, they'll just do it with better athletes and more talent. My hope is we keep it respectable and have something to build off for the back end of the season. I have very little confidence in us keeping this much of a game. The only potential hope is that Indiana exposed our issues and we are able to correct a lot of those quickly, but I doubt that will be the case.

Have more confidence that the defense will be able to bounce back and figure some things out.

With that team they could just copy Northern Iowa and get the job done.
