We can't keep having that attitude, though. We've gotta be able to seal the deal when we get these kids on campus. They were top targets on our board for a reason. For years the excuse was that we couldn't get top recruits to visit, and that if they did and saw what a unique place Nebraska is, they'd think differently. "All we need to do is get them to visit" our fans said. Well, now we're getting them to visit, and they're still choosing elsewhere. What is missing?
You are right. HCMR has never gotten anyone of any quality to commit.

Our offensive line play has been subpar for quite a while. I think that's going to be tough to recruit until we show vast improvement there. We got some good guys we brought in and hopefully we can take a big step forward there this season
Yeah, just disappointing because it seemed like we had a really good shot at landing a bunch of quality OL, but these two - who were two that we seemed to have a very good shot of landing - chose elsewhere after visiting here. Still a lot of time to go and maybe we'll still flip one (or both) of these guys and land some of the others.
Sure we can. If we were recruiting the O line like in the past I would agree, but we aren't. And the staff, coach Donnie has a list, this guy snuck up on us here, no longer term relationship.
So shall we hold them at gun point? We did all we could and then some. He chose elsewhere. We have won way more than we lost the last 2 years.
