My All-American Journey - University of Nebraska

When I first came to Nebraska, I wrote down on a piece of paper that I'd become a Division I All-American. In order to achieve it, I first had to believe in it.

Congratulations to Christian Lance for meeting the goals he set for himself and that benefited him and the team.

Since the season ended, the Huskers have seen Four wrestlers enter the portal.

The most surprising was last season’s 125-pound starter Jeremiah Reno. The freshman was pressed into action when senior Liam Cronin was injured early in the season. Reno struggled throughout the season, going 4-15 on the year.

Tucker Sjomeling is in the portal as a graduate transfer. Sjomeling was a part-time starter in 2020-21 and holds a 24-16 career record at Nebraska.

Lastly, junior Jordan Kelber also entered the portal. A former three-time Nebraska state champ for Valentine, Kelber went 5-6 at Nebraska.

Former Husker Kevon Davenport (149 pounds) entered the portal during the season and has since landed at Illinois.

Venz to Join Army West Point Staff​

"WEST POINT, N.Y. - Army West Point Wrestling's Head Coach Kevin Ward has announced the addition of Taylor Venz to his staff for the upcoming season.

Venz, who is coming off an extremely successful career with Big Ten powerhouse Nebraska, will serve as the Black Knights' volunteer assistant coach."
