I don't understand wrestling, I don't put kids down that do, and want to, but GBR, and God pitty the man that the Polar Bear has used to keep his skills set for next football season. GBR

Wrestling starts in 12 minutes or so, will be fast and furious with quarterfinals up first. Busy session for Big Red! I discovered last night that you can stream individual mats on ESPN+.

We need some more upsets in our favor!

Correction: Consolation Round 2 run simultaneously as QFs.

Smith lost 4-3 in another controversial finish. Locked hands challenge in 2OT was denied. Also, seemed very close to a reversal in that 2 OT. But, Smith really lost because he could not escape during the entirety of the 2nd regular period. Did not get the escape point and gave up the riding time point.

Rough session for the Huskers. Only 1 win out of 8 matches. But, some good chances for team points in the wrestlebacks. There are still 7 wrestlers in the hunt for All-American status; Lovett already there and the other 6 just need one win.

125: #15 Smith will face winner of #20 Poulin (UNCO) or #28 Sotelo (HAR)
141: #9 Hardy will face winner of #11 Koderhandt (NAVY) or #14 Vasquez (ASU)
149: Lovett #1 seed, will wrestle #4 Henson (VT) in semifinals
157: #8 Robb will face winner of #11 Lee (IND) or #19 Askey (APP)
165: #8 Taylor will face winner of #21 Fish (MSU) or #14 Petrucelli (AF)
184: #5 Pinto will face winner of #16 Dugan (PRIN) or #9 Berge (SDSU)
197: #10 Allred will face winner of #19 Voelker (UNI) and #5 Cardenas (COR)

Consolation Round for those opponent matchups are just underway.

Only one NU wrestler won so far today, Ridge Lovett.
133: Van Dee is out

We still have 7 wrestlers alive, 6 in consolations:

Semi Finals:
149: Lovett will wrestle #4 Henson, VT to move into finals

Lovett lost 1-0

Consolations:
125: #15 Smith will wrestle #20 Poulin, UNCO
Smith won 5-0
141: #9 Hardy will wrestle #11 Koderhandt, NAVY
Hardy won 7-3
157: #8 Robb will wrestle #19 Askey, APP
Robb wins 9-4
165: #8 Taylor will wrestle #14 Petrucelli, AF
Taylor won 11-6
184: #5 Pinto will wrestle #9 Berge, SDSU
Pinto lost 13-8
197: #10 Allred will wrestle #5 Cardenas, COR
Allred lost 5-2

Everyone in consolation matches must win their next match in order to Place and be All American! It can be done....we'll see how bad they want it!

5 wrestlers will become All Americans; anywhere from 3rd to 8th place!
