I was underwhelmed by many of our highly ranked wrestlers in the Iowa match. The Hawkeyes just seem to have the psychological edge with a bout on the line. I hope we see a bounce back against another tough opponent tonight.

Both Smith and Robb did not wrestle well at all tonight

Both Smith and Robb did not wrestle well at all tonight

No.
Robb seems to be in a bit of a slump. I wonder if his illness has made it harder to recover and that little bit of difference explains his outcomes? He is wrestling good wrestlers, so margin for error is very slim.

Loved the Harley Andrews bout and late move to win the match for the Huskers!

Agree with everything you stated. I had been down on Andrews and he has struggled, but man, that was a great win by him and the way he sealed it for the team was really nice to see the guys rally around him afterwards. Whether its him or Nash at 285, NU needs production like this in close duals. Duals may not really matter to some in the lens of individuals at the NCAAs, but winning them does matter. Winning always matters and duals are just darn fun to watch.

My overall impression of the tight matches was that our guys seemed to lose focus in the last 30 seconds of a period (and gave up points) and/or seemed a little more gassed than their opponents. Not sure if that is conditioning, or in some cases, due to weight cutting.

Would have been nice if the NCAA had put the schools alongside the names in this thread.

This will be a huge dual.... Michigan beat the crap out of Iowa.

This will be a huge dual.... Michigan beat the crap out of Iowa.

Given MU's momentum and our poor result vs. Iowa this one has me nervous. Robb looked a little better yesterday, but against a guy he should have tech falled if he was "as good as new." Now, given he's lucky to be alive and have both legs, let alone wrestling at top 10 D1 level, it's hard to be critical. But looking up and down the matchups I'm worried.
