NU v Kansas, April 21st

In baseball, even if you have a very good team…. If you think they’re going to win every game…..

You’re just setting yourself up for a lot of disappointment.

We need brush this off, go to Illinois and win that series…

Win the series and move on…. Good things will happen.

Agree. Don't feel so bad about a loss cuz this team gives me the feeling they will learn from it and move on. They don't fold or walk away with their tail between their legs. GBR.

I read an article on how RPI is decided.

One of the very important factors which I did not know about is “bad losses.”

Games you were blown out…..games against an obviously inferior opponent with a terrible record you lost.

We have zero of those…

In fact….the vast majority of our losses have been by a run or two against solid teams.

Look at the Oregon series. We were literally two hits from sweeping that series….and Oregon is very solid.

We have a good team.

Now what we need to do as the season closes is follow the old maxim of….

“Beat the teams you should beat.”

Win each series and move on….

GBR!

Thank you Carrolltonsker for the inning updates. Frustrating loss. But the thing is even though Kansas is obnoxious and annoying they are a very good baseball team and likely to win the Big 12 and host a regional. These two losses likely will not hurt as much as they won't really impact the RPI as it is a loss against a quality opponent just as every loss has been this year.

I don't though quite understand why Horn pitched an inning last night after pitching five on Sunday? Also, didn't quite know where Dylan Carey's head was at last night as he did not have a very good game at all especially with the error and his last at bat in the ninth.

On to Illinois, can see this team finishing no worse than 10-4 the final month and would not be surprised if it is better than that.

That's really interesting, thanks for sharing that. It does make sense. So going forward, win at least 2 of 3 and if you lose, don't get blown out. GBR!
