Otterdahl was the top collegiate finisher in the men's shot put with a throw of 61-1 1/2 (18.63m). He led a 1-2-3-4 finish for the Husker men with Kevin Shubert (57-11, 17.65m) and Trevor Begeman (55-7 1/2 (16.95m) also earning top-three honors.

On the track, Emma Algarin sprinted to a personal-best 7.48 to win the women's 60 meters. Her time cracked the all-time Husker top 10 in a tie for eighth. Algarin took second in the 200 meters at 24.39, while Kayla Hugg was third in 24.75. Alex Nelson was victorious in the men's 200 meters, setting a new personal best of 21.29.

Huskers Cap B1G Championships with Six Titles

"The Husker men finished in third place in the team standings with 90 points, while the women tied for seventh with 51 points. The Iowa men (117) and Minnesota women (102) were crowned team champions.

Mayson Conner found the top spot on the high jump podium for the third time in his career. After winning the high jump title both indoors and outdoors as a freshman in 2019, Conner came in first for a third time on Saturday by clearing 7-2 1/2 (2.20m).

The Huskers swept the Big Ten high jump titles, as freshman Jenna Rogers claimed the women's gold medal with a clearance of 5-11 1/4 (1.81m). Rogers was perfect on her first three heights to clinch the win.

Alex Talley brought home the weight throw title with a toss of 72-3 (22.02m). The first-year Husker was a two-time Summit League weight throw champion at North Dakota State and placed sixth at the NCAA Indoor Championships last year in the event.

Papay Glaywulu repeated as the Big Ten indoor triple jump champion, leaping a season-best 52-0 (15.85m) on his second attempt to defend his title. It was only Glaywulu's second competition this indoor season, but he produced a jump that was enough to score 10 more team points for the Husker men."

Seven Huskers Qualify for NCAA Indoor Championships

The eight entries are the most for the Huskers at the NCAA Indoor Championships since qualifying eight in 2015.

Nebraska's qualifiers are Darius Luff (60m hurdles), Mayson Conner (high jump), Jenna Rogers (high jump), Darby Thomas (long jump), Burger Lambrechts Jr. (shot put), Alex Talley (shot put, weight throw) and Axelina Johansson (shot put).

Nebraska thrower Alex Talley was named the Big Ten Field Athlete of the Championships on Wednesday after a vote by the league's head coaches. His award is the second consecutive won by a Husker after Burger Lambrechts Jr. became the first-ever Nebraska men's track and field athlete to win a Big Ten Athlete of the Championships award last season.

Nebraska track and field senior Burger Lambrechts Jr. was named the Big Ten Men's Field Athlete of the Year for the second straight year, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
Two tidbits from his bio that I thought were interesting:
Personal
Born Aug. 6, 1998...parents are Burger and Deirdre...father, Burger Sr., was a two-time Olympic shot putter and three-time African champion.
He is 23 years old, going on 24, so he is older than many of the other athletes he is competing against which can be an advantage in the weight throws.
Impressive that his Dad is a two-time Olympian.

Mayson Conner, the Big Ten indoor high jump champion, came up clutch on his final attempt at 7-2 1/2 (2.20m). Needing a clearance to avoid a runner-up finish, Conner hit his mark, and it was enough to give the McCool Junction native a fourth career Big Ten gold medal. With Jenna Rogers also winning the indoor and outdoor high jump double, the Nebraska track and field program claimed all four Big Ten high jump gold medals in 2022.

Jenna Rogers made it a sweep of the Big Ten indoor and outdoor high jump titles as the Huskers competed on day two of the Big Ten Outdoor Championships"

His mark tied with Ohio State's Hayden Tobias for the best throw, but Otterdahl claimed the gold medal by having the better second throw between the two (63-6, 19.35m). It's the first career conference title for the sophomore.

Burger Lambrechts Jr., the Big Ten indoor shot put champion, finished third with a throw of 63-11 (19.48m) to collect the bronze medal. It was the fifth career Big Ten medal for Lambrechts Jr. Kevin Shubert placed sixth in the event at 61-9 (18.82m), a new personal best.

Rogers won the women's high jump gold medal, giving her both the Big Ten indoor and outdoor crowns. She became the first Husker woman to sweep conference indoor and outdoor high jump titles since Na'Tassia Vice did so in the Big 12 in 2004. Rogers was the only high jumper to clear 5-11 1/2 (1.82m)."

"Three other Huskers scored team points for the NU women in the event. Riley Masten (5-9 1/4, 1.76m) and Madison Yerigan (5-9 1/4, 1.76m) tied for fifth place. Brooklyn Miller cleared the same height but on her second attempt and placed seventh, giving the Husker women 19 points in the competition.

LaQwasia Stepeney picked up her first career Big Ten medal, finishing second in the long jump with a mark of 20-4 1/2 (6.21m). Stepney's jump was just half of an inch shy of the winner, Ohio State's Alexus Pyles.

Micaylon Moore picked up the bronze medal in the men's long jump with a new personal best of 25-0 3/4 (7.64m). In his fourth career Big Ten conference meet, Moore medaled for the first time and picked up six team points for the men. Nebraska high jumpers Jenna Rogers and Riley Masten qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships on the final day of the NCAA West Preliminary Round on Saturday.

The Huskers finished the four-day meet with 11 national qualifiers. The NCAA Outdoor Championships will be held in Eugene, Ore., from June 8-11.

Both Rogers and Masten cleared 5-11 1/4 (1.81m) to finish among the top 12 high jumpers who clinched a bid to nationals.
