I've heard Ekeler rumors, but that was weeks ago.

It's crazy how quiet the search has been. Anyone have a guess/rumor?
 
Come on, someone start a Rumor! Maybe the Bills Special Teams coach? My guess is there has to be something Next week. I know some contracts were active til Jan 31st.
 
I heard it was a highly successful high school football coach from a powerhouse high school in Hawaii famous for churning out college and NFL caliber linemen year after year. HCMR is just trying to figure out how to get large amounts of fresh poke shipped from the island into Lincoln daily. Once the logistics are worked out, the deal is done.

Tyler Brown , Here is part of his Bio which leads me to believe you are correct

Prior to the Eagles, Brown served as a special teams graduate assistant (2019-20) and special teams analyst (2016-18) at Michigan. As a member of head coach Jim Harbaugh's staff, Brown helped the Wolverines earn top-12 special teams rankings in 2016 (third), 2018 (12th) and 2019 (fourth). He also guided punters Kenny Allen, Will Hart (twice) and Brad Robbins and kicker Quinn Nordin to All-Big Ten accolades. In addition, Hart earned All-America honors under Brown's tutelage in 2018.
From 2014-15, Brown worked as a special teams consultant at Temple under head coach Matt Rhule.
Brown was mentored by his father, Randy, who has been a kicking consultant for over 30 years at the NFL and collegiate levels. Randy is currently a special teams coach with the Baltimore Ravens and previously worked with Philadelphia during the 2004-05 seasons.

This is the type of talent HCMR appears to like. Brown looks to be an up and comer with some good, quality stops. Someone looking to move up, someone he knows. someone eager to work hard and prove himself, and someone HCMR can still coach.

In John's press conference this morning, he said he is there for the athletic department, whatever they need, even coaching the linebackers. Maybe Troy can talk him into special teams, when John isn't working with the Rodeo team.
