When talking about the I Formation and the Double Wing Set that the Huskers used last Saturday, I think it's quite telling when Austin states:
"Technique-wise, it's almost like you let your hair down a little bit... just run through angles. Run through shoulders, whereas on the inside zone game you have to make sure you're fitting blocks and putting bodies on bodies, and moving and adjusting to their movement." The old-school stuff? Austin feels it's more pin-your-ears back style.
"Our kids, they have fun running it. And they were extremely confident in running it." Austin said linemen were even saying on the field, "Just keep on running it."
I think there are times when as a coach you really need to adjust to the strengths of your players... do more of what they do best, and less of what they're do poorly.
