The Mrs. and I went to the NORCECA Volleyball tourney last night in Ralston, NE. These were the US, Canada, Mexico and some Central American National teams competing. The winner would qualify for the World Championships. Got to see the Dominican Republic vs Peru and then the US vs Canada.
Jordan Larson and Kayla Banworth were playing for the US. Both were starters and played the whole match. I've seen NU play live and it's good volleyball. This was a whole different level. The US was the best team we saw last night by a decent margin. Jordan was, IMHO, one of the top 3 players on the court I saw all night. No one had a serve as good as hers. Some of her kills, especially the back row attacks were amazing. Kayla was just as impressive. If the ball was close to her, she would dig it out and keep it in play. Only a couple of times the she was unable to play the ball and it took an extremely good play by the Canadians to terminate the kill when hitting at Banworth. It was a very enjoyable match to watch in person. The USA beat Canada in straight sets.
