I was at the DII JUCO Women's Basketball Championship game in Overland Park on Saturday and watched Mesa College play Highland Community College. Which brings me to the football connection the point guard for Mesa College, who also was Tournament MVP, was Peace Amukamara. She had 28 points, 12 rebounds; she was clearly the best player on the court.
I will also say, after watching 2-1/2 days of THE Tourney, the girls game seemed like a change of pace. It was a lot faster, both teams pushed the ball up the court, ran through the offense and it was rare to see a possession go under 10 secs. on the shot clock, the girls were pretty physical, too. It was a fun game to watch.
