They ruined the greatest uniform in college football and I'm not going to be browbeaten into denying that fact. If this was our alternate, fine, I wouldn't mind it very much, if at all. Making this our primary is a terrible decision, however.

I definitely don't think they look better, but given the alternate uniforms we've had in the past, it could be a lot worse.

I’m just curious which version is the greatest uniform.

The 66 look with numbers on helmet?
The 67-69 look with the NU on the helmet?
The 71 look with stripes above the numbers? (Almost reminiscent of these new ones)
The 83 look with solid red jersey with no stripes, no shoulder numbers, but shoulder N and double stripe on pant?
The 90s look without the stripe on the pant?
The 02 look with solid thick stripe?
The 2003~2010 with the number on the sleeve?
Or the 2010+ with numbers on the shoulders
One stripe pant/two stripe pant/no stripes through the years?
The winning tradition patch didn’t come around till the 90s.

So there are numerous variations of the Husker uniform through the years. And they’ve won in each of them. As a matter of fact, their current rendition they’ve actually probably won the least in. So which traditional look is the acceptable version? And whichever you choose, none of the other versions are acceptable for former, current, or future Huskers?

In 2010, the numbers moved to the shoulders, but that had a lot to do with how the overall fit of jerseys and pads had changed. There really wasn't enough real estate for stripes and number on the sleeve, as many players barely had a sleeve to start with. Double stripes on pants look to be pretty much the same from 1970-1994 and 2004-2025, stripes on the sleeves goes through a similar time frame (although they did vanish for a time). I thought the uniform we were wearing prior to this change was about as "traditional" Nebraska as it came.

I think I'll get used to the stripes on the shoulders, but right now it reminds me more of the practice jerseys we've worn in recent years. I prefer the double stripe pants, but honestly don't know how much attention I'll pay to the pants. The biggest eye sore is the font of the numbers. Not sure I'll ever really grow to like that. Could it be worse? Definitely. Is it better? Probably not.
 
Having had had any mention of corn erased from all of the designs I have done for the University, I am happy to see that the numbers have rows in them., representing corn! It's a start.

After going through all the uniform pictures, my favorites are the 1970 uniforms. My least favorite (of the uniforms worn in my lifetime) are the 2002.
 
At first look I was not a huge fan of the change. Now that the dust has settled, I think they are perfectly fine. Sharp, actually.

Probably the font chosen for the numbers looks a bit off, but pointing that is a bit petty.
