New Jerseys

I'm not a big uniform guy, but I think the cornrows thing is great. Looks good and extends the brand, and of course honors the state. Kudos to whoever thought of that.

I'm ok with the rest. And yeah I'm not happy with the current team performance but updating to stay modern is just part of life.

Still, I'll never get rid of my old Leisure Suits. They'll come back.

Worst part of these new uniforms for me is the font they chose for the numbers. They seem really rounded. Was the first thing I noticed when I saw them. The shoulder stripe relocation is going to be a visual adjustment, but I may end up liking that in the end, just going to take some getting used to. The pant stripe I could take or leave, but I agree only going part of the way up is a little awkward.

I definitely don't think they look better, but given the alternate uniforms we've had in the past, it could be a lot worse.

I just hope at some point we can order something other than just #1 from any online shop
I got a custom jersey for Christmas right before they disappeared about ten years ago. They brought them back a couple years ago when NIL got legalized. Fanatics lets you do custom jersey (name and number). They currently have the older style uniform available for customization, though. Not sure when they new one will hit the stores. I feel like there was a store in Lincoln that had an online shop that let you do them, also, but can't seem to find which one that is.

Like:
  • The number font is nice, and I don't even mind the "corn rows" in the font itself. Not sure I like the "shiny" aspect to them, reminds me of the Rams and it's not a good thing.
  • Moving the TV numbers to the sleeves.
  • Moving the stripes to the shoulder pads.
  • Resisted the urge to add black.
Dislike:
  • Truncated stripes everywhere. Good grief this trend needs to die. It's so bad. I'd say if you must, at least do them at least half or 2/3rds of the way on the pants, preferably top down.
  • The two stripes are very similar to the Adidas logo with the truncation, if there were a third it would be their logo, hard for me to unsee.
  • Getting rid of the patch, in the end not the biggest of deals but still don't like it.
Overall, it's not horrible, but it's not an improvement either. Moreover, keeping the same classic, basic, helmet with a modern uni design never works for me. Either go all in or stay all out on the redesign.
