Nebraska's O-line

You have got to be kidding me; getting hit almost 34% of the time at or behind the line os scrimmage is horrendous!

Here is what AI thinks:

A running back (RB) should ideally never be hit at or behind the line of scrimmage, but in reality, they are hit there frequently due to offensive line failure. Data suggests some backs face this scenario on nearly 20% of carries, while elite lines keep it under 10%. Consistent hits here indicate poor offense.

This has got to improve if DONU is advance, it is why Geep was brought in.....

GBR
Please explain the statement … “Emmett Johnson was hit at or behind the line of scrimmage a class-low 33.9% of the time”. I didn’t make the statement, I don’t know if it is true but if it is and it’s to be interpreted as I interpreted it then it would suggest positive results.

Jeremiyah Love has a 33% contact behind the line of scrimmage rate …

It is negative for the O-line: he should not be getting contact that often behind the line.
It is positive foe EJ that he was able to make something happen despite the poor O-line performance, gaining yards after contact despite where the contact occurred.

Better check that AI again. The point was literally EJ had the LOWEST behind the LOS contact....technology can try to "understand" football but it is only as good as what it is offered as fact. The real facts say the OL was pretty good and EJ was really good even when the OL wasn't....but please keep relying on AI instead of reading comprehension.

I think the guy tweeting was only looking at those RBs at the combine so I’m sure there are others who had better numbers but for those dozen or so RBs in Indy I think EJ had the lowest percentage.

Jeremiyah Love - Notre Dames RB and universally hailed best RB coming out had a worse percentage.

I do think the OLine last season was solid. Especially in the second half of the season.

If I was an NFL GM and I needed a RB I would pass on Love in Rd1 and chase EJ in Rd2. Not much difference between the two IMO and EJ is a proven pass catcher.

It doesn't take a super genius to see that...

Maybe our 5 star QB was a big part of the O-line looking worse than maybe they were ? I'm guessing he was Hit or Rushed the inverted number then EJ on snaps!! Dylan had poor pocket presence and also it's been said that he had free reign with audibles so part of the issue could very well be that also

Our O line interior was good, not great pullers for outside run, and imo is why we see this years O line as being more athletic.
They disrupted our outside run, disguised some inside blitzes and played hell on our qbs, especially DR.
This year we may have both inside and outside run game, plus qb mobility with experience.

Our outside run game sucked. It did well on those screens that take time, otherwise not much there.

I'm confused, again.
Who do we "thank" for all of EJ's rushing yards?
Sincerely.
I gave credit to EJ, but he made questionable reads, it's part of maturing into the "professional" athlete you train to be.
My read, Nebraska was the football version of FRANKENSTEIN on Offense and Defense.
I feel somehow, satisfied for what we accomplished.

And so did all the sweeps, they were all questionable because our outside run game stunk. We ran inside as good as most.
The timing of our outside screen games, not WR screens, jailbreak types was good enough for misdirection to get our slow footed OL in place.

I anticipate more discipline from a Geep led Nebraska Offensive Line.
Physically, impressive.
Can they work as a team.

I think one of our guards, last year, our center and eventually our LT could simply do things the other two could not.
The other two excelled in different ways, but it became tough for consistency to happen imo. At least in the full framework of our playbook.
The advantage of having better play at tackle, better more athletic play for outside runs will help solidify the "gelling" teams want.
If opposing D's can simply point out plays by who is moving where and who isnt, you end up doing what all can do well

Yeah, it seems so many people nowadays are letting "AI" think for them. Sad that reading comprehension has gone into the toilet since AI became more mainstream.
