Nebraska seems to have a problem with finishing well or completely. Individuals can get to Semis or the finals of a tournament but not win. Not since Boroughs two-time NCAA championships have we seen NU win here. Their best wrestling needs to be at these championships.
Kudos to
Vito Arujau and his dominant 10-4 victory over Penn State's Roman Bravo-Young, which snapped a 56-match win streak. Too fast for RBY!!
Also, North Carolina's Austin O'Connor capped off an incredible college wrestling career, finishing his senior season undefeated after handling Penn State's Levi Haines 6-2 in the NCAA finals at 157 pounds. UNC's first five-time NCAA All-American.
Woods loss to
Northern Colorado's #2 Andrew Alirez in the only meeting between two undefeated wrestlers. Alirez was the first Bear wrestler to make the national finals since 1969.
