"From 2011 to 2015, Kokesh totaled 144 career wins in a Nebraska singlet, ranking second in school history. He earned All-America honors three times, placing third at the NCAA Championships in 2013 and 2015, while taking fourth in 2014. Kokesh also claimed Big Ten titles in 2014 and 2015.
Kokesh was a member of the NWCA All-Academic Team and was a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection. He also spent five semesters on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.
A Wagner, South Dakota, native, Kokesh was a three-time South Dakota Class B State Champion (2008-10) and led Wagner High School to team state titles both seasons. He graduated from Nebraska in August of 2015 with a degree in agronomy."
Nebraska has big road tilt with Oklahoma State scheduled early in November in second dual of the season
www.cornnation.com
"After competing in the National Duals Invitational last season, Nebraska elected to pass on its invitation to this year’s tournament because the new December 12-13 schedule interferes with finals week. All four eligible Ivy League teams also declined the invitation for the same reason, while other top programs have weighed their options in deciding whether to attend or not. In my opinion, the NDI’s move from mid-November to mid-December was not a good idea.
Therefore, Nebraska’s schedule looks more like it used to — some seriously salty dual matchups as well as a trip to Vegas for an always tough Cliff Keen Invite."
Nebraska secured commitments from All-American Anthony Echemendia and Lucas Cochran from Penn State on Thursday
www.cornnation.com
"Nebraska added another two-time All-American lightweight in Anthony Echemendia from Iowa State and picked up a much-needed 184-pound starter in Lucas Cochran from Penn State.
Echemendia comes to Lincoln with one year of eligibility remaining. It’s unclear if he’ll wrestle at 141 or 149 for Nebraska, although 149 is probably more likely at this point.
Cochran has spent the majority of his time in Happy Valley at 197 pounds with some at 285, but he’ll make a cut down this year for the Huskers to 184. Already a big 197-pounder, if Cochran can make the cut and be effective, he may be the biggest 184-pounder in the country this season.
While at Penn State, Cochran amassed a 26-5 career record as a backup."
