I think it was kind of known because she was already sick Friday against Kansas. I thought what really hurt was Campbell breaking her finger Friday so she was out for the season. Losing your backup setter puts you in a real tough spot.

I'm proud of the way these ladies represented during a really difficult time. And I'm proud of the job DBK did this year following in the Paul Bunyon sized footsteps of the retiring Coach Cook.
It will be interesting to see what this does to DBK’s recruiting class and possible portal additions—-lot of competition out there for the elite players. Yes, she has huge shoes to fill in Coach Cook.
Still in shock. Super proud of the fight in this team. It was clear the odds were stacked against them yesterday and after the first two sets to fight back as they did was a testament to them. We may have lost but this team makes nebraska proud.

What s shame. This team was probably one of the best of all time and the flu kept them from proving it.
If Campbell doesn’t break her finger on Friday, she could have spelled Bergen, and if Szceck doesn’t roll her ankle 5 minutes before the Sunday match, she could have done her usual + .400 hitting as well. All it would have taken is one or two points in the first or fifth set and we win. That is sports though.
But regardless, this team brought more joy to fans this year than any team I can remember. The team and DBK have my thanks. Next year.

I don’t know for sure; however, I suspect it was Influenza A. There is a nasty strain going around, and apparently “multiple” players were affected.
