Nebraska vs. Texas A&M 12/14/25

They said, Landfair, Jackson and Reilly struggled

Landfair had some good moments...I think it was in the critical set 3 that she had a good stretch. But, then wasn't a big part of that attack toward the end. Not sure what was going on with Jackson, maybe the defense was determined to take her plays away. To take an All-American off the floor for the final two sets shows what a struggle it was.

Hats off to A&M, they played a stellar match today and it was one of the best matches I think I've seen from two teams.

Disappointing loss but a great effort (that 4th set today was epic) and season. B1G Champions and strong performances to the end.

I believe that most (if not all) of our players felt that a National Championship was the only way to define a successful season. I appreciate and respect that level of standard that they set and expected.

Given their consistency and results on the court over the years, I hope that our players and coaches take pride in the fact they’ve made an important contribution to sustaining such a truly elite VB Program. GBR!!!

At the Kansas game when they said Campbell was out with the broken finger I thought I heard someone say Reilly was sick. I know at the time I wondered what they'd do at setter if she got sick enough she couldn't play.

Maybe it's just me (again), but IMO this 2025-26 Husker athletics season has been rather soul crushing so far. I've been a Husker fan for 49 years, and I don't recall too many years with multiple gut punches like this one has had. Whats odd/surprising to me though is that the PSU and Iowa disasters didn't hurt all that much. This one, however, hurts! I feel even worse for the football and volleyball seniors who have worked their tails off for 4-5 years.

I'm quite sure this is no consolation now, but I hope Rebekah, Allie, Maisie and Taylor are proud of what they've done at Nebraska and proud of helping Coach DBK keep the program on the same consistent, winning, path that Coach Cook, and before him Coach Petit, established. Heck, they raised the bar even! They may not have won a NC, but what they did this year was remarkable.

Other than Navy beating Army, Nebrasketball pulling one out on the road, and seeing the entire George Mason men's Final Four bball team, including Head Coach Jim Larranaga, return to Fairfax to be honored at halftime of the bball win over ODU, this hasn't been a fun weekend. It's been 20 years since my alma mater pulled off that miracle run!

I expected the Huskers wbb to destroy Illinois State, but it's really nice to see them keep rolling too. Hopefully, Natalie Potts will get to return when conference play starts. Given Allison's knee problems, if Husker sports has yet another player with a knee injury out longer than expected, it might be time for the Athletic Department to look at what they're doing as far as sports medicine.

Do we definitely know what the seniors plans are yet? Any of them said whether they'll be joining Lexi's team in Omaha?

And right on cue, Wisconsin advances to the Final Four to represent the BigTen.

Mixed feelings, probably more saddened that the Huskers lost because I'd definitely rather see Wisconsin than Texas. I would have been happy to see a Nebraska vs. Wisconsin final.

Wisc had a key player out when we played them. They got her back and have rolled off something like 13 straight wins
