That's what I'm trying to understand. You initiated the conversation. If you don't understand your own criteria I certainly can't help you.
You are the one I said NW was "loaded" with NFL talent. I said NW has "several" players that will play on Sundays. I am not sure how you took my "several" and translated that to "loaded." I do understand my criteria, I do not understand yours (though I have a good idea what the agenda is). Anyway, is "couple" better than "several" for you? I also feel pretty comfortable Prater and their RB will play in the NFL eventually. Does 4 of 22 starters at least qualify as "several?"

I don't have an "agenda" other than to see the Huskers do well. Doesn't mean they don't frustrate me at times just like any other fan. I also like Bo for the most part and I hope he succeeds here.

Yes, four qualifies as several.

Sorry they came back to win and ruined your agenda, er, night. Good Lord, I guess you want them to win 70-0 every game. Get over it, NU sledge hammered in the second half. You can go away now and continue your Chicken Little if they fall behind for all of half.

This is full of nothing but straw men. None of these accusations are true at all, and are backed with no evidence. So I say again, get over it.

My late final thoughts.

First of all, I missed the first 20 minutes of gametime so I will try to comment on what I saw.

I thought the field was pure slop. And in the first half, it really favored Northwestern. I commented to several people that there was a good chance that there would several serious injuries tonight. This isn’t the first time I have felt that way about Northwestern’s field. That field is garbage.

I thought the second quarter we played about as poorly as we could play. Dropped passes and missed tackles were the theme. On one eight yard run by NW, I counted five blantant missed tackles. On their second touchdown, it is so disappointing to see such a pathetic “oleâ€￾ effort out of a fifth year senior. Mitchell has to know he has outside contain and he cannot collapse in and give the outside to the runner. If you are going to miss there, you have to make sure you at least force the runner inside where there is potential for someone else to make a play.

The dropped passes were very concerning. Alonzo Moore with yet another career drop. Kenny Bell continues to have intermittent dropsies. Granted, NW got away with a blantant PI down the field (a play which we did not get away with in the second half), but the WRs were awful.

It seemed to me that our players were slipping and sliding all over the field and just couldn’t get their feet underneath them to make plays.

The main bright spot of the second quarter was the introduction of Pierson-El to the offense as a key weapon. After catching a 46 yard pass to start the drive, Pierson-El capped it off with a nifty play call 16 yard pass to Tommy Armstrong for the score. Pierson-El would go on to catch a couple of very important passes in the second half.

Armstrong was eratic in the second quarter although the dropped passes didn’t help. He threw over receivers, behind receivers, and many of his reads were just plain bad.

The second half was a different story.

As aggrevating as the last six quarters of football had been for fans to watch, the next two quarters were a joy to behold.

The tackling was crisper, the up front blocking was better, and Armstrong and his receivers started making plays.

First of all, kudos to Kevin Williams for making an impact while replacing Vincent Valentine due to injury. This is the Kevin Williams we have been hearing about since he arrived. The guy could be really, really good if he could just stay healthy. He had 2.5 sacks and made an impact.

It was nice to see Banderas step up and make a solid third down stop early in the half as well. I had to check my eyes to see if I was seeing clearly. Yep, that was him that stopped the NW runner on that third and two play. The beauty of it was, he did not allow the runner to slide forward. Perhaps his best play as a Cornhusker.

Kenny Bell attoned for his poor first half and made some big plays. As already mentioned, Pierson-El had two key receptions but look at that catch at the goaline he made—that was not an easy catch on such a wet field. I doubt any receiver would have made that catch in the first half.

And it was nice to see Alonzo Moore with a key reception to make up for his drop and holding call.

But the key spark offensively seemed to be when Reeves, Kondolo, and Price were substituted into the game. We finally got Abdullah going and once we did, it was all over. Abdullah seemed to gain confidence with every run and Northwestern began to wilt away. Hopefully, we see more of these guys as we go forward.

Another nice aspect of the half was our play on third downs. Winning third down is the key to football and we won the vast majority of them in the second half including some difficult ones. Armstrong converted some tough third downs with some crisp passing and the defense was lights out on virtually every down throughout the half.

BTW-Loved the Armstrong Superman routine to get to the goalline but he needs to be careful as one of these days he is going to get hurt if he keeps doing that.

A nice win on the road against a team that has been a thorn in our side. The team overcame some adversity and actually won a hard fought game going away. It this had been a five quarter game, NU would have continued to pull ever farther away. It was nice to see them impose their will under these circumstances.

And hey, we are Bowl eligible.

Next up, at home against Rutgers.

Keep the pedal on the floor. Onward.

Take care all.

Why are we not getting along? Did we lose? Hmm?

Sure is nice to be "family"!
LOL. A win is never good enough as long as Bo is HC for some people. They want Oz to come out of retirement or Bear Bryant or Amos Alonzo Stagg or Saban to come here. Then they want to give backhanded priase like "yeah, we need to play 4 quarters like the last 2" or some other meely mouthed compliment. But let come out and not be up on Rutgers early nextweek and we wll see the same crap we saw this week for 60-70 posts.

Glad we could get that straight. I am not saying NW is 1995 NU. But they are not chopped liver either. And we share the same agenda- we want to see NU succeed at a high level. And I also am frustrated liked any other fan. My biggest gripe is why throw the coaches under the bus until the clock reads 0:00? I am not saying you did but just go back and read the first 60-70 posts. Plenty of sky is falling and draw and quarter Bo comments there.

I have to say that while Bo's praise of the team after this game was not quite effusive it was about the best I have heard him talk about one of his teams in the middle of a season.

Just shows, he demands more than the way we have been playing, overall. He was truly pleased this time. When he praised his players, I was thrilled for the kids. You see, it really meant something, coming from Bo, who is not gonna' just hand out bs praise. Way to go, Bo! :)
