Yes it has. The bitter sweet part is this will be the first game without expecting Fred Frazier to show up at our tailgate. He will be missed but definitely not forgotten. Will be tailgating with Marlin and Ron and having a jello shot in his memory. Really glad I got to see him one last time this season.

Also, senior day is always special.

Where is Maryland offensively and defensively after tough games against Michigan and Ohio State?

Offensively, the Terps suffered a big setback when it was announced freshman running back Lorenzo Harrison was suspended indefinitely prior to the Ohio State game. The Terps’ staff admitted that after being outscored 121-6 in the last two weeks, the morale of the team is fragile—and it’s evident on the field. Offensively, the Terps have had a tough time getting their running game going, especially with Harrison out. Sophomore running back Ty Johnson and senior Wes Brown have contrasting running styles that on paper, gives Maryland a reliable rushing attack. The offensive line, though, has been overpowered by both Michigan and Ohio State in consecutive weeks. On Saturday, the Terps will look to rely more on the passing game if senior quarterback Perry Hills is unable to go. Senior quarterback Caleb Rowe is likely to be the starter and his clear strength is his arm strength. Gaining confidence in the short game will be priority number one for offensive coordinator Walt Bell.

Defensively, the Terps are struggling in the trenches. The defensive line has been often overpowered and it’s clear the need for an elite defensive tackle to help in run support. But the linebackers are the biggest worry as the group as a whole has significantly underperformed this season. The secondary has shown signs of improvement despite the loss of senior cornerback Will Likely. Junior college transfer JC Jackson has been exceptional in coverage while Alvin Hill has also stepped up in a big way. True freshman Qwantrezz Knight has also stepped into the starting role and has shined. But it’s clear the defense is overmatched against the top teams in the conference.
