Nebraska vs Maryland Game Thread (10/3/26)

What an absolute mauling of Ped St last night. It was glorious. Have no idea why Ped St was still ranked. Polls are meaningless.

I have waited a long time for a healthy NU team to come close to GA. Not Ryker Fyfe at QB. Win Huskers and improve the chances at a Florida bowl. At the very least Nashville.

I have called it months ago. Matt Campbell is Ped St's Mike Riley. Once he runs out of Iowa Lite players, then what does he do? Nicely done NW.

Just hope we get through this game in just 3 hours! If not i will have to figure out the logistics of volleyball coming on at 6!

This game scares me. Maryland has only played one bad game. And they played it like a self inflicted Nebraska team of the past by having 5 turnovers, untimely penalties and 8 punts. If they resolve those mistakes and play like their first three games we better bring our A game.

I'll take their 3rd game where they lost to VT

This is absolutely one of those “trap games” that have undone the teams of the past like our game against Minnesota last year. This is a great opportunity for our beloved Husker team to show that they are different this year and can take care of business.

We better bring our A game. Period. I don't care if it's Maryland, IU, OhSU, or East Cupcake U. Give 110% every play, regardless of the opponent.

That said, what evidence is there of "a self inflicted Nebraska team of the past"? We have notably NOT been committing stupid penalties and turnovers (yes there have been a few penalties). Undisciplined teams commit those errors when they try to play above their level. It's time to make our opponent make those mistakes. We have a long way to go, but I think we take another step up today.
