Nebraska @ UCLA - 3/3, 10 PM CST (FS1)

Gentlemen, have a little calm. One team won at the Pavilion this year. No B1G team swept the coast. If we hit half of the open looks we clanked, it’s a nail biter until the end. Did I see airballs from 4 different players? Both free throws missed by one of our most consistent shooters? Several turnovers by throwing to where a player expected a teammate to be? It wasn’t one thing, it was a game a good team will put behind them.

Fred probably won’t spend much time on tonight’s film. He will show just how the Hawkeyes made us look bad in Iowa City. That, senior day, and a crowd that despises black and gold, will give us a win. Don’t dwell on the coldest, least coordinated game of the year.
I know that you played high level basketball and I respect your opinion and am hoping your correct, but am worried this is more of a trend in the last so many games. I see teams pressuring NU farther out and not afraid of getting beat off the dribble. Lawrence has been very questionable dribbling in traffic as is most of the team sans Sam. Ball movement seems much less than earlier in the season. They did miss some open shots that they have been making mostly this season but nothing offensively is easy for them against teams that play a little defense.

I know NU wasn’t favored to win and UCLA has been tough at home but I’ve watched every game this season including exhibition games and I’m worried they already peaked when other teams are playing their best basketball. I could see NU not winning another game this year pretty easily unless they start playing with some urgency from the tip. Hope I’m wrong.

Need a bounce back game against Iowa. In the bigger picture, probably need some help to get an OKC spot with Houston, Texas Tech, and Kansas now back ahead in the simulations.

The key going forward IMO, is that teams have found a blue print to beat us. I've been saying this for weeks. We lost win the team decides to put every effort possible in to not letting Sandfort do anything and by playing physical. Im disappointed that Fred has not found a tweak that works to this. Maybe he still will. Thats the key

Last night shots just wouldnt fall

I didn't watch so I can't comment on the game. The only thing I can say is that no other top 10 team has lost by 20 points in any game this year... From the top 20, only Florida and Arkansas have had 20+ point loss games this year.

it sounds like this time, it wasn't just bad first half play, it was the whole game.
It was totally ugly. It was the epitome of the game youve been worried about.

This is pretty much my take on the game. The shots weren't falling. They had open looks at the basket for 3 and things just didn't go in a lot of times. Yes they also had a couple of airballs. Watching the rebroadcast of last nights big show on BTN and they said Sam was 2 for 2 from 3pt land and the rest the team was 3 of 23. Normally that is 10 of 23 and if they shoot that they are in the game.

Also on the show Cronin literally said in his after game presser, that is the best game they have played all year.

Its a disappointing loss for sure, but its a good UCLA team that plays night and day different at home. Its another quad 1 loss. Its not like they went to Penn St and lost by 15. Kansas got beat by a terrible Arizona St team last night. Texas Tech got beat pretty bad by a pretty average TCU last night.

They need to play better and they can play better.

All good teams are losing right now, except the top 5. Not saying that we dont have some concerns........we do.
But you look at purdue, etc, etc.......they are having tough losses like this.

With that said, Fred has got to figure out how to combat what teams are doing defensively. And we need Mast and Lawrence to return to full form. Mast is not playing as bad as some fans are saying but hes not as dominant. And Jlaw has been off since Pstate

Frager just had a bad night, I think hell be fine

Did you even research LMAO

Yeah, i goofed that up..

but there isn't a lot more.. the total is like 5. I was looking at top 20 teams, not all teams.

Well said, I think it was just an off night. Maybe a little fatigue from being on the road for 5 days. We need a little mojo back going into the tournament.

Frager, Lawrence, Sam, Jacobsen (although he had some nice shots), looked off last night and had some uncharacteristic turnovers...and even Pryce had an airball (we had at least 4)..Mast looked better even though He, Garcia, and Bierke all missed layups...

After watching our team during various time during the start of the season, and almost all games at the end, this appears to me to be two different teams. Your hope to get in a bracket with Houston, Texas Tech, etc., will be devastating for NU.

Playing a decent team that is playing their best and desperately fighting through the bubble, nights like this happen. But they better be ready to defend home court against the Hawkeyes.

Can’t believe I stayed up (in Eastern time) to watch that debacle.

No offense here, but I'm so happy for Fred and team that a knowledgeable fan would call losing to a UCLA team that has lost twice at home this season a debacle. What a great season they are having. I hope they can put this one in their rear view mirror, get some rest and beat the doors off Io_a.

I believe UCLA has lost once at home not twice
