Nebraska @ UCLA - 3/3, 10 PM CST (FS1)

I realize this team has been out west for several days now, but playing a game from 10pm to midnight according to your usual time zone couldn’t have helped. Just so out of character for this team.

No Big10 team swept USC/UCLA on the road this year. It wasn't their night. Terrible shooting, turnovers, way too many easy offensive rebounds, and just out of sorts. The refs could've called a foul on whoever was guarding Sandfort almost every time down the floor but only chose to call the most egregious fouls. Bounce back, beat Iowa and get the triple bye.

5-5 in the last 10 games going into a tough final game and then the conf tourney before the big dance tells me they wont get the monkey off the back.......

Gentlemen, have a little calm. One team won at the Pavilion this year. No B1G team swept the coast. If we hit half of the open looks we clanked, it’s a nail biter until the end. Did I see airballs from 4 different players? Both free throws missed by one of our most consistent shooters? Several turnovers by throwing to where a player expected a teammate to be? It wasn’t one thing, it was a game a good team will put behind them.

Fred probably won’t spend much time on tonight’s film. He will show just how the Hawkeyes made us look bad in Iowa City. That, senior day, and a crowd that despises black and gold, will give us a win. Don’t dwell on the coldest, least coordinated game of the year.

I didn't watch so I can't comment on the game. The only thing I can say is that no other top 10 team has lost by 20 points in any game this year... From the top 20, only Florida and Arkansas have had 20+ point loss games this year.

it sounds like this time, it wasn't just bad first half play, it was the whole game.

Current #6 Iowa State lost by 21 and current #10 Texas Tech lost by 30, which isn't 20...so okay.

Beating UCLA on the 2nd leg of a several day Los Angeles trip while playing past midnight our time against that UCLA team would have been a monumental task. Little Mick loves to complain about travel schedules but it’s such an advantage for 50% of his games.

Could we have played better? Absolutely. We should have, too. Going into it, I thought keeping it within double digits would have been rather good. I don’t think a Quad 1 loss will hurt us that bad. Kansas, Alabama, and Texas Tech all lost tonight as well.

Unlike our football program, our basketball program definitely hates Iowa enough to bring brass knuckles to the game. It’s senior night with a team full of vets - we will be ready…believe that.
