NU beats UCLA 4-1 to open the series. Jensen with the start Frahm with the save, her 8th which is a record. Add in Camenazind and NU has one of the best pitching rotations in the country, each have earned player of the week honors so far this season. Add in some great defense which robbed UCLA of two or three hits last night and NU is a tough team to beat.

NU broke UCLA's 22 game win streak, and held UCLA scoreless through the first three, which hasn't happened to them all season.

Think I heard the commentators correctly last night when they said UCLA entered the game averaging nearly 2 runs per inning!

NU loses the second game 6-5. They went into the 7th trailing 6-3, put up two runs, had the bases loaded with one out, but couldn't get another run across.

Game three NU wins 8-4. UCLA has a great offense but they only have one decent pitcher.

Holding UCLA TO 1, 6, and 4 runs was a big success. Huge winning that series. We really should win all the remaining series, and nearly all the remaining games.

I was surprised at how poor their pitching was. I understand they lost two pitchers to the portal, but it seems they couldn't find decent replacements.

The only disappointment was yesterday down by one with the bases loaded and swinging on the first pitch for the third out. UCLA couldn't throw strikes all weekend, I'm not sure how many walks we got, but they did walk in one run and it was walks that helped load the bases in the 7th. As many balls as they threw I'd of thought a little patience may have been better than swinging at the first pitch. But in the end it didn't really matter since they took the series and may well earn them a super regional.

The five remaining 3 game series do not involve any of the top 5 teams in the conference standings, so winning nearly all is possible. But we will play the good teams in the conference tournament.

Rained yesterday, DH today against Rutgers. I like our setup for a F-Sa-Su series better, but we should be fine.

Seven run first inning got the Huskers to an 11-5 win and series sweep of Rutgers.
