Nebraska @ Iowa Game Thread (11/29/24)

No. The lineman failed to do their job. Go to bed. You’re about to act stupid. I can tell by the nonsense logic you are starting to employ. It only goes downhill from here.
Go to bed, your funny. Rhule is the HC, he should have said, "SPIKE THE BALL". That equates to the equivalent of a time out. Get our guys all on the same page, he failed to do so, it's basic really. By the way, don't bother trying to act like you know me, LOL. I'm sober, didn't touch a drop tonight. It's my opinion, so don't be a dork.

Solve everything with Holgorsen? No . . . I've never even remotely said that. Not sure where you get that from. I call out issue where I see them.

ST was the key culprit. They've been terrible most of the year and had multiple game-changing botches tonight. The defense played great--most of the game--but you can't just excuse that long TD run. That was awful execution. There were 6 guys literally with either hands on the RB or actual arms fully around him and near the sideline. That should never happen.

The offense got out to a 10 - 0 lead. Iowa's offense is as one-dimensional as you can be. Yes, more points by them would have ben better. But you can't excuse the defense for falling completely asleep on on game-changing play and the ST was abysmal. There were plenty of plays on offense that were there and just weren't executed, but they did stake a lead and it was coughed up.

But if you can't admit that DH is a far better OC than Satt, I can't help you. The guy's been around for 3 games and has a pretty long track record.
Dh is better
But you hated satt so much that you now cant see all the Os problems
Your so mad at the missed tackle play and dont mention that we had a chance to win it in over time and we do the only thing we cant do
Set the ball down on the 35 with 15 seconds and so they can win
You cant see that a team that can only score 10 points has a problem. The D that gave up 7 is the problem lol
All Im saying is you blinded by your hate for Satt and happiness that dh is here, that your mad at the wrong issues because you cant allow yourself to see reality
That the defense played lights out all game while ST screwed up and the O made dumb plays and sputtered all game.
Thats what happened. Its obvious to a 5 yr old child for gods sake

Basically what im sayin is when satt was here, it was all his fault that we lost and the on the O

Now that we got rid of him and got what you wanted, you blame the D and sts for the loss
So youre not able to see things rationally because your so hung up on satt being the issue and dh being the solution
Dh was a good move, glad we had have him. But the O screwed the game up when the D gave them 3 and out series after series after series, while the O couldnt produce and then with the game on the line with a chance to win, basically set the ball in the ground at the 35 and said kick it
Thats what happended. Ontop of sts errors

You said those things perfectly sober. It’s worse than I thought.

I guess you’re right. The lineman that whiffed on the block probably wasn’t on the same page. He must not have realized that he was supposed to keep that one defensive player off his QB. Perhaps a time out would have given the coaches time to explain to the lineman that they should protect DR from the rushing defense.

I certainly don’t know you. But I know this. Had MR/DH had DR spike the ball, you or someone else would have criticized it for wasting a down.

I wish Foley had told the punt returner not to muff the punt. I wish White would have reminded his defense to tackle the ball carrier on that touchdown run. I wish Foley had reminded the field goal kicker to make the kick, or the holder to handle the ball correctly.

Well, I hate to say it, but, that's probably not gonna happen.
If we don't play in the Pinstripe bowl, which according to you we won't, we shouldn't have to play in the cold so we have a 50/50 chance to win.

I'm just as deflated as anyone but if we play that game in the 40's instead of the 20's i don't think we lose.

I have been quite clear on the offense's problems and where they weren't good enough last night. They made plenty of mistakes (including the last critical one--which I also called out quite clearly that you cannot whiff on the rush there) and guys missed making some plays in key moments. But it wasn't really the playcalling last night, if you're watching the game with an honest pair of eyes. Not sure why you're so upset about this. Holgorsen's had a few weeks to clean up a mess that was big enough for Rhule to make a really drastic change late in a season. He needs time--I'd rather have him than Satt, which you seem to agree on.

Special teams was dreadful (yet again) and their mistakes were the absolute killers. I put the majority of the blame on that unit.

Yes . . . the defense played lights out MOST of the game. That was awesome. But you can't just excuse the huge TD run with those missed tackles. That's like explaining to Mrs. Lincoln that most of the play was really good. White knows that wasn't good enough and I'm sure the players do, too. You can't have that many dudes with arms around a player and not get him down or out of bounds. Was that THE play that lost the game? No. But you can't NOT call it out for what it was. It was a terrible effort on a huge play that turned the game in a big way. It's all part of the puzzle.

Once again case of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde meeting

The problem isn’t with one coach. Other teams make plays when the game is on the line. Nebraska players do not make plays that win games. They often make a mistake instead. It’s been this way for years. Until they break through and make plays, instead of mistakes, when the game is on the line, the streak of close losses continues.
