Nebraska @ Iowa at Iowa City - 2/17, 8 PM CST (BTN)

We just lost of game we were favored to lose. We have played 26 games and we've really not lost a game yet that we were supposed to win. We were favored at home against Ill but I personally dont count that as there is no way we should be favored to beat a top ten team twice in one season.

Mich, MIch ST, Ill, purude........and everyone else have ALL lost games that they shouldnt have lost. Iowa came out and played unreal D. Kudos to their coach.

Teams have figured out how to slow our O down and how to rebound against us. I expect Fred to counter this somehow and we start playing better. I hope anyway.

Im disappointed but Im not going to pretend like this is a big deal. Our schedule is now easy and everyone else has games they are going to lose. We are still in a great spot but Fred needs to make some tweaks right not and I expect him too.

GBR
Not trying to nitpick here but how do teams figure out how to rebound? To me rebounding is about effort and fundamentals. Iowa and the last few teams have been crashing the boards hard. IMO we only have about 2 players that consistently put in the effort to rebound and they are usually the 2 smallest guys on the court. Multiple times I seen guys just looking at the shot when Iowa put it up and not trying to find a body to box out. Wasn’t like this early in the year.

Defensive sets can put players in better position to rebound

We can play more garcia or more Leo and less frager at times possibly. Bigger lineups

Chewing ass

all 3 of these are things that could help, possibly

FWIW - all of the top Big Ten teams have matchups with each other down the stretch.
You can pick your winners in all the remaining games to see where a team would land in conference seedings. I put Huskers in to lose two more games and finishing in a tie with Michigan State and Wisconsin for fourth. Huskers have tie breakers over both, so would earn the double-bye.

We are in a good spot. No way we lose 2 more. One mabye but not 2

Mast just doesn't look the same.. I think he is just worn out. I guess if there is one thing Fred needed to do, but didn't was play some of bench players to take the huge burden off of Mast. Even if that meant getting beat. Early loses mean less than late season loses.

We will see how this plays out.

Pains me to agree with you, but youre right.
And Id add that its not just Mast. Hoiberg Jr, Pryce, etc......its wearing on all of them. Theres several guys that should have played some or more to keep these guys fresh. We need Leo and possibly Blue or Garcia to log minutes these next 2 games.

The book is out on this Husker team. Apply tremendous ball pressure and make this team dribble. We don't have the slashers to overcome it. They need to figure out how to counter this... back-screens are hopefully in our future.

The first half of Northwestern looked like this ... adjustments to more back cuts and drives to the basket is what I think I saw in the second half.

Hes had a bum ankle but supposedly could have played last night. Also, he looked good on O. On D, he didnt
I think you have to pair Curtis with Berke, or even Garcia. He needs some help on the physical Defensive end of things, so we'd need to have one of those two in there with the assignment of helping bring some physicality. If we can put Curtis in a better position from a matchup perspective, we can limit his shortcomings. His foot speed is limited so we need to not expect him to do a lot of help defense on the outside, then needing to hurry back to cover the man rolling to the lane. Mast does a good job of that, as does Berke, so we need to account for that when we sub in Leo.
