The wind was blowing it out.It did sound like the ball was doing crazy things, the way they were calling the play!! Whew!!
Again, the umps did all they could to put this game in cre's pocket. Shameful!!

The good news is….. we won that game! Got the Creighton Vodoo off our backs.
And a win is a win. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve lost games like this.

The bad news is that this is like the fifth game in the last eight or nine where we have blown a big lead courtesy of our middle relief pitching. Starter does incredibly good for 5 to 6 innings…… and then you have to start holding your breath.
It’s a weakness….
Coach is gonna have to figure out some kind of method….. short leashes… different rotations, limited appearances…. But we cannot keep giving up five runs and one inning…..
It’s almost like clockwork lately.
Caleb had a good inning…. We probably should’ve pulled him right then….. and let a new guy have a shot….no second inning. Or at least pulled him immediately after the first two batters. Folks may say I’m over cautious and that’s a big lead that’s very hard to overcome and you might as well give the kids more time. But we’ve done that and poof…a five run lead disintegrates. And not just once or twice…… we’ve almost developed a pattern.
My belief is with our current middle relief…. Two back to back walks or a walk and hits batsman and they’re out….. try somebody else.
Those kids have got to get some confidence back and leaving them in there to watch a big lead evaporate is not the way….IMHO
Oh, and we need to find some NIL money to get that Creighton closer.
And… what the hell do I know….. I coached high school baseball and the money we were given from the City didn’t even cover the amount of baseballs we consumed a year.

With all the faulty pitching, the error by Stokes is what made this game so iffy!
I hope I live long enough to do this! Can't believe how hard this win was. Rockets being caught in the late innings.....and an ump who refused to give our pitchers (especially Unger) what they deserved...strike outs!
If they do monitor umps, that guy is not long for college. Ship him off to high schools..........and make him get his eyes checked!!!
