Nebraska Bowling


"The Nebraska bowling team finished in third in the NTCA rankings as the 2025 May poll was released on Wednesday.

The Huskers received a total of 1,326 points and one first-place vote, finishing third behind No. 2 Jacksonville State (1,378 points) and No. 1 Youngstown State (1,485 points, 34 first-place votes). Wichita State finished fourth (1,246 points) and Vanderbilt (1,196) rounded out the top five.

The Huskers’ season came to a close at the NCAA Championships in April, taking home a third-place finish. Nebraska was topped by Youngstown State, 2-0, on the first day of competition and defeated Wichita State, 2-0, to stay alive. The Big Red then fell to the eventual national champions, Youngstown State on the second day of competition."
 
"Reigning NTCA Player of the Year Jillian Martin was named to the USBC Junior Team USA team which will represent the United States at the 2025 Panam Bowling Youth Championship, August 10-16.

Martin was among eight young bowlers selected by the National Selection Committee to represent the states in Guatemala City, Guatemala. "

2024-25 (Junior)
Jillian Martin finished her junior season on top of collegiate bowling, being named the NTCA Bowler of the Year. Martin competed in 131 total games on the season and 51 individually. Martin earned the fourth-best average by a Husker in a single-season with a 216.15 and finished with three top-five and seven top-10 finishes. Martin earned runners-up honors at the Garden State Classic with a 217 average and a game-high of 279. In addition to being named Bowler of the Year, Martin was named to her third straight first-team All-America selection after leading the nation in average and eight other NTCA individual season stats. Academically, Martin was named to the Tom Osborne Citizenship team (2023, 2024, 2025) for the third time in her career and a spot on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll.
 
"Kowloon, Hong Kong - Three past and present Huskers helped the Team USA women finish strong in the final day of the IBF World Championships as Jillian Martin, Julia Bond, and Shannon Pluhowsky made sure the Stars and Stripes came home with gold medals.

Team USA was guaranteed a medal on Friday just by reaching the Women's Team semifinals. They would begin play against Korea, who would win the first game of the best two-of-three Baker series with a scoreline of 257-234. The Americans bounced back to take game two 221-151, followed by a decisive 212-160 game three victory, which moved them on to play for gold."
