On the contrary I think the league is sending a message about gambling.

The looseness of what is happening in college had the potential of bleeding into the NFL. I think the league is saying that there’s a line and if you cross that line you’re not going to play in the NFL.

Between fantasy football, prop bets and game bets … I think they’re trying their hardest to keep the impropriety out as much as possible.

College referees are not allowed to play NFL based fantasy football or they risk losing their jobs. The leagues want to take this seriously, but the players aren't cooperating.

I don’t see any way Texas tech revisits this. As I understand he has already withdrawn from school. At this point they just want to wash their hands. The kid needs to pay his one year penalty and then try again.

That threat remains so hopefully that is enough for TTU to remain uninterested in bringing Sorsby back … but if I’m Sorsby’s attorney I could/would play the victim card.

You have to think a lot of their fans and boosters weren’t pleased with siding with the guy who bet on his own team, even if one prominent booster and the university president were outspoken. Someone finally started listening to reason.

Not sure what is left for him to do. Their next task would be to find an NCAA team that thinks they can use the Texas ruling to argue for him to play. Does a middling FCS school sign up for that?

I think fans and boosters are loose depending on which side of the argument they are on. I imagine the TTU fan base may be less firm about this issue they say we are.

He won't risk injury at a lower level school. Work out and apply for the 2027 draft is his best option.

And prove that he is cured from his gambling addiction. Without that proof, I doubt that any NFL team would risk drafting him in 2027 if that anchor is still around his neck.

It’s ironic how this played out. Entering rehab to “show” you the ncaa you are changed backfires and proves to be the chain connected to that anchor.
