N2FL's Draft Big Board

Unless Ty Simpson gets drafted in the 1st round tonight, he's an idiot for coming out. He turned down a $6.5 million NIL offer from Miami and I'm sure Bama would have paid plenty too.

Just for context, Luther Burden III signed a four-year, $10.965 million rookie contract as the 39th overall pick last year.

Next year's QB class is stacked, but if he'd gone back to Alabama and had a similar year while accumulating another 12+ starts to his resume, he'd absolutely be in the discussion for the No. 1 pick. Cam Ward signed a four-year, $48.75 million fully guaranteed rookie contract with the Titans. It included a $32.1 million signing bonus.

Not sure I agree.

It’s true, that he’d make as much in one season at Miami as a 2nd pick would make but:

(A) He’s actually 2 years closer to a 2nd contract … as 2nd rounders don’t get an extra year on their rookie contract .. and …

(B) There’s no guarantee that he’d be a high draft pick next year. With Arch Manning, Dante Moore, Julian Sayin, LaNorris Sellers, CJ Carr, John Mateer, Sam Leavitt and several others the likelihood of Simpson falling to the 2nd is eminently real.

Point is now moot:

As the 13th overall pick …
The 13th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft is projected to receive a four-year contract worth approximately $24.35 million to $25.41 million, featuring a signing bonus of roughly $14.17 million to $14.94 million. The deal is fully guaranteed and includes a 5th-year option.

Key Details for the #13 Overall Pick (2026):
  • Total Value: ~$24.35M–$25.41M
  • Signing Bonus: ~$14.17M–$14.94M
  • Contract Type: 4-year deal (with 5th-year option)

Wow … what coulda been?
I wonder where he would have been picked had he stayed at NU. Probably undrafted...
Well our coaches thought A&M was over paying.

Third TE of nine taken in first three rounds (only three RBs taken). He was ranked on ESPN as #13 TE; so they are calling it a stretch.

I guess everyone has to justify their positions as deal critics. But they aren't making a living on their calls. And A&M had a better year than DONU.

How about some love? Great job Nate and congratulations!

Nate played very well for the Aggies and was probably the best TE we fielded in his time here. And yes LL is pretty good, too. But Boerkircher was a very strong blocker and proved a capable receiver.

The NFL draft year after year reminds me how lacking our player development actually is! Supposedly one of the finest facilities in the country and the results never show it! Just afraid things need a total overhaul top to bottom.
What is your proposal?
