Michigan Practice (9/19/18)

Could this be part of the buy in that coach Frost and some players say needs to happen to b successful? Just curious as I assumed that the conditioning part was to make it so we were dominant in the 4th quarter when other teams were trying to catch their breath. Not being critical of strength and conditioning not the coaches...just posing a question for those more knowledgeable than I.

Depth plays a part in this also, not just strength and conditioning. Due to poor recruiting and player development over several years, we don't have much depth in spots like WR and Oline, especially given the tempo we're trying to run. Too early to jump to many conclusions, although I realize that is the nature of the message board beast.

As I recall, Frost and his staff took digs at Rileys staff for not being in shape and everyone brags about how the workouts and shape these guys are in is through the roof...........now we get excuses of kids getting worn out Vs Troy at home! Doesnt add up boys
Especially if you take bkth statements out of context and know nothing about the difference between the offenses that are run.

Also, if it only took one offseason of S&C to get an entire team of athletes to achieve their maximum strength and performance, than every team would do it and every athlete would be at their peak strength/performance index in just one offseason.

It simply takes time and effort to get athletes to their peak... let alone to a level that’s sustainable over the course a season.

Like culture, our team’s maximum S&C is going to take a bit of time to achieve. It’s not something that most (if any) student athletes can achieve in just under a year.

I know you are just posting the news and updates but my question is, outside of financially and maybe second and third string development is there any upside to removing the week off from the schedule? That would make for a very arduous 12 weeks IMO.
Every POTENTIALLY winnable game played increases the chances of qualifying for a bowl game. At this point Big Red will need to win 6 of 9 conference games to qualify. There can be little doubt that even 5 of 9 will be a challenge. Having bowl season workouts and practices for this team would be very valuable.

Holy crap. It was 100 degrees on the field. Even if your guys are in great shape 100 degree humid day will Humble them.

I don't know if the media is creating it, but they're definitely only paying attention to the half wits in the minority that are predicting doom and gloom.
When ESPN starts flashing headlines that read, "Coaches on the hot seat: Scott Frost", as they did yesterday during one of their day time talk shows, it's pretty obvious who is creating it.
