Meltdown. Can Frost manage it this week?

Long time lurker (like decades) first time poster. Frost completely abandoned the run in the 2nd half, like he has every game this year. He can't help himself.
Yes, but he had more plays on his handy dandy laminated play sheet that they hadn't ran yet. His job as OC is to run all of the plays he created, not put the team in position to win.

As sucky as it still would have been . . . finally beating Iowa and getting a mere 4 wins would have put at least a semi-positive spin on the end of a gawd-awful season. Instead, special teams--the one area that has never had a dedicated, on-field expert under Frost and that has cost us multiple games--coughed up another win. This one is bad. I don't know how you put a positive angle on this to get kids to stay who are on the borderline. Maybe you tell that that you promise to hire a solid ST coach who will improve that phase of the game; sell a new OC who can keep the offense interested; and Chins can keep as many dudes as possible on defense.

Frost gets one more chance next season. If it looks the same and he's still under the reworked buyout . . . Frost is done.

Did you see the blocking? Was not on the punter. That was on our "GREAT" ST coach.
So you saw a 3 step punter, casually moving forward, to the point he almost kicked a ball in the butts of the blockers? We may need a special teams coach, but we’d be slapping high fives if we had a decent punter who recognized pressure.

He's been there all year. Is he slow to release? Yes. But he hasn't had a problem until the jailbreak we saw today. If you can't be intellectually honest enough to admit the blocking was horrific, then I'm not sure what to tell you. Additionally, who's responsible for placing him out there if he's such a liability?

If this is your attempt to defend Scott and his ST coach having done a "GREAT" job, that is a weak hill to die on.

Dude, he’s had people on the end of his foot every other game! Punters are supposed to feel pressure, not be oblivious to it. No one is defending anything, it’s a simple observation that we have a seriously marginal guy punting. Are you of the belief that we can get a new punter via free agency? We put who we have out there, unless you are suggesting we go for it on 4th down every time?

A dedicated, experienced ST coach probably has the kids on the sideline and says "we can't take the chance of a block down here . . . we're going punt safe (like I have coached you extensively) and you need to get this kick off FAST."

I'm not sure what this unit was told there, but it sure doesn't look like they were geared up to avoid a block.

Shhhhhh....The Specialists are always at fault. I'll forward you the memo and talking points I received in August.

Holy cripes. I just watched the replay of the punt block. Hardly any of our linemen even bothered to block. Just released and ran downfield. The three punt protectors didn't stand a chance

I don't believe even another year is in order.

Enough is enough.

I don't disagree that this should have been Frost's last year. But it's a done deal. Terv's givig him a chance to come back and fix it. He may can him part-way into 2022 . . . but Frost will be the coach to start the next season.
