He was asked a question and answered it, but there are many ways he could have answered it. Harping on a kid that left and on his family makes no sense. He's gone. Move on.
I've always wondered why strangers to conversations (assuming the family had conversations) feel they know what the conversations concluded. Who knows? Maybe the family said it's up to you, and he picked out Lousiville on his own. Looks to me that was his mistake - not leaving NU (why should he stay here - he wasn't going to be the starting QB for them while AM had breath, and probably not thereafter). We'll see how he does at Rice.
But why use that as an example in answering a question that a straight forward answer not using examples would have moved you on to the next question. We win this only on this board. If I'm a recruit, bad mouthing an ex player who sees no way to a starting job and leaves is not something I put on the positive side of our ability to recruit. It gets slaps on the back from beer drinking fans, but I doubt that a recruit looks at it and says - man that makes me want to go there. This coach flatters a kid in high school but then when he sees things are not what he expected and moves on to another school, the coach bad mouths him. Yes sir - makes me want to go there.
