HIO, thanks for posting!! A couple things stand out to me.

1.Watson and Webster need to stay inside the 3-point line. Is it a coincidence that they both have rather flat shots and struggle from long distance?

2. Turnovers! Was surprised to see Morrow with so many. Having only seen one game, is he trying to dribble down low and getting stripped?

3. Surprised to see White doesn't have any assists! He doesn't seem like a black hole, maybe the guys just aren't converting?

As far as your questions:

1) I haven't seen enough of Watson to say one way or another about his shot. Listening on the internet radio feed doesn't give you much to go on. Webster has always struggled to shoot from anywhere.

2) Morrow had 5 turnovers against DSU. Sometimes turnovers come in bunches. Need a greater sample size to say for sure. Some of his turnovers have been offensive fouls too, btw.

3) White has been our leading scorer. He really is our go to guy when we are looking for a shot (for example the shot clock is getting ready to expire). I'm not too concerned with his lack of assists since he has taken 20 treys. If he drives more, he will have opportunities to dish more often. We shall see. One thing I really look for, is for players to be two passes away from a basket (very underrated quality btw). White has been two passes away a few times so he is involved in some quality ball movement.

I actually wish White would take a few more shots. He is doing a good job of trying to get his team mates involved. We'll have a better idea how things are going to look after the Creighton game.

I think I remember Morrow having a couple of TOs after grabbing rebounds. Could be on the outlet, or dribbling after a defensive board, or even as some said, getting that offensive foul trying to push an early fast break. He seems like a very aggressive player, so that could just be getting a little ahead of himself...an adrenaline error so to speak.

I love our free throw percentage. Hate our turnover numbers. Also, these young kids are going to have to learn how to defend without fouling.

We need to get to the line more, 24 a game isn't very good. In fact, we rank about 150th in the country in free throw attempts. Unfortunately, refs are willing to call just about anything, need to take advantage of that. That's one thing Petteway was very good at, being aggressive and forcing the issue. You're going to get calls for being controlled aggressive.

Young and old players are going to need to learn to defend without fouling. They are making it tougher and tougher to play defense....to the point of ridiculousness.

True. Some of these touch fouls just ruin the flow of the game. While Aaron Craft types shouldn't be able to play grab-n'-slap baseline to time-line every time up the court, defense still should be allowed to use hands a little and be physical within reason. Now they can't even give a little bump on a cut? Crazyness!

I hope they at least balance it by calling offensive players for the push off. I saw CU get nailed for it a couple times last year. If they are going to allow guys to just put their heads down and barrel into the lane and call a foul every time that makes end of clock/end of game situations impossible to defend....that's not basketball IMO.

I don't know if you watch much pro ball (I really don't much anymore), but if you can, watch a little of what Golden State does. They have some size issues similar to what we do. They use a lot of jump traps, doubling and rotating, that helps ease some of those ills. I'd like to see us not try and just put anyone on an island trying to cover inside players when we are outmatched as badly as we are and will be in the B1G.

I realize there was a strong desire to stop the ugly, drop the shoulder and plow to the basket style we saw too much in the tourney last year. I think the thought process was if they stopped the physical out front, they could also slow down the 'plow and pray' approach of guys hammering their way to the rim. Honestly, I'd love to see a far cleaner, less physical game. I like the Euro/International look of basketball that relies far more on great passing and shooting, and less on guys dribbling and driving.
