MBB Game #29 (2/29)(20-8)(10-7) Nebraska vs (16-12)(6-11) Ohio State @ The Jerome Schottenstein Center 5:30 CT PM FS1 GAME THREAD

I really didn't expect a win tonight. We got our road win already. Michigan will be tough when we go there at the end. We at least clinch a single bye and maybe a double bye in big 10 tourney.

The second Thorson was scratched, our defensive game plan should have been to run Battle off the arc and not let him beat us. I don’t think we changed course at all as he got a ton of good looks.

The officiating was crap. But we could have made more of an effort to attack the rim and force whistles. JA was in foul trouble so I understand why that was more difficult.

Winning tonight could have sealed it. It’s hard to win on the road in this conference and we didn’t. We know what we need to do…just have to go do if. To me, we must beat Rutgers Sunday.

The big discrepancy in the game is free throws. OSU shot 28 and made 24. Nebraska shot 8 and made 6.

Nebraska shoots a few more and OSU shoots a few less and Nebraska wins the game.

I went to the game. I haven't read anything in this thread but I am not sure how it came across on TV, but the officiating was horribly one sided in this game. In spite of that, the team still had a chance to win.

Im a lil worried about heading into the 2 tourny stretch with mast & wilcher off.
Keisi i think wilp bounce back but we meed mast to play confident and wilcher to hit shots if we are going to make a run in either tourny.
Im glad jlaw has found his groove but thats not gunna win games

I really didn't think we would win, but I didn't expect us to look that bad. nobody could get into a groove.

Goodness, this is not the time to regress back to early season NU...

I thought the main problem tonight overall was just a cold night shooting, which happens to all teams now and then.
I just hope a few guys done go into long term slumps here at the wrong time

Was monitoring on a PbP app while on a flight. The foul and FT numbers were clearly leaning heavily against the Huskers.

Did we move away from driving to the basket (and possibly drawing more fouls) and toward launching more three point shots (which don't generally draw a foul)?

This was a winnable game and unfortunate we didn’t finish.

The effort level wasn’t there on the defensive side of the ball.

If you watch Gary's dunk you can see how the game was called differently. He got arm, face and bodied with no call. That being said the cold shooting late kept us from any chance of winning.

Yeah, we hit shots, and the reffing is irrelevant. And the Buckeyes hit a high percentage of free throws
