Nebraska (7-17, 2-11 Big Ten) comes off a heartbreaking 72-70 loss to ninth-ranked Maryland on Tuesday in College Park. The Huskers rallied from a 14-point second-half deficit to get within 71-70 when Cam Mack's potential game winner was blocked by Jalen Smith in the final seconds.

• Nebraska looks to snap a nine-game losing streak on Saturday. NU's game against Wisconsin will mark the seventh straight opponent in the top 35 of the NET.

Cam Mack is in fifth place on NU's single-season assist list and needs just 10 assists to tie Brian Carr (166, 1986-87) for fourth place.

SCOUTING WISCONSIN
Under fifth-year coach Greg Gard, the Badgers are 14-10 overall and 7-6 in Big Ten play. The Badgers have four wins over ranked teams on the season and also have a 20-point non-conference win at Tennessee.

Wisconsin's stretch is its ability to control the pace, as the Badgers are 13th in the conference scoring offense (65.8 ppg) and first in scoring defense (61.7 ppg). UW commits a conference low 10.3 turnovers per game and leads the Big Ten in free throw shooting (.757).
The Badgers rely on an eight-player rotation with seven players averaging over 7.5 points per game.

The 'Skinny' (from another site. :Cautious:)

The Skinny:
Nebraska decided they were going to make Wisconsin beat them with the 3 and Wisconsin ended up killing them with the 3, knocking down a ridiculous 18 of them. The Huskers might dial this back a bit but expect Nebraska to once again concentrate on taking away Reuvers/Potter and hoping that the Badgers have a tougher time shooting with Adidas balls. A brief glance at their home/away splits in 2020 suggest they will.

Last time out Dachon Burke scored 21 points in 36 minutes. It seems unlikely he'll have the stamina to repeat those numbers coming back from his bout with the flu. Expect Jervay Green to start once again and pick up that slack.

Feels like Nebraska should play this one close and thus I like their chances to pull one out at home against this Wisconsin team that has struggled to score on the road in 2020.

Prediction: Nebraska 74 - Wisconsin 67

The Badgers play around 8 guys with 6 dominating the minutes.
  • Trice is the PG but has really struggled from outside in conference.
  • Charge enthusiast Brad Davison also has struggled from outside. He remains a dead eye FT shooter
  • Ford, like most everyone else, hasn't been lighting it up from outside
  • Sr shooting guard Brevin Pritzl remains an elite 3pt shooter and stout defender
  • 6'7" Freshman Tyler Wahl has only hit one 3 during conference play and of course that was vs Nebraska
  • Jr guard Trevor Anderson is guard depth

Go Big Red!! This is a game that I think we have a good shot at winning. Of course, coin flip on whether our team that makes shots, plays defense, and battles shows up today.
