Tominaga had a team-high 11 markers for the Huskers, while Alonzo Verge Jr. and CJ Wilcher added 10 each for the Huskers, who shot 45.6 percent from the field, but committed 17 turnovers which led to 28 Purdue points. Kobe Webster matched his Nebraska career-high with five assists while Lat Mayen led NU with eight rebounds, a season-high.

The Huskers (6-11, 0-6 Big Ten) are looking for their first Big Ten win after battling with No. 25 Illinois but falling short in an 81-71 setback Tuesday evening. Nebraska had tied the game with 3:57 left after a pair of Bryce McGowens free throws, but Illinois responded with a decisive 12-2 spurt to pull away. It marked the second straight home game where NU had a chance to knock off a ranked opponent, but fell short in the final minutes.
The Boilermakers are 12-2 and ranked seventh in the country. Purdue returned all five starters and all but one letterwinner from a team that went 18-10 before being upset in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. In 2021-22, Purdue started the year 8-0 including wins over North Carolina, Villanova, Florida State and Iowa to move to No. 1 in the AP poll. The Boilermakers lost at the buzzer against Rutgers then rattled off four straight wins before dropping a 74-69 game to nationally ranked Wisconsin.

3 KEYS TO VICTORY

1. Make every possession count
There isn't a more efficient offense in all of college basketball right now than Purdue.......... there isn't an area offensively where Matt Painter's team can't beat you, and the more chances you give the Boilermakers, the more they will make you pay.
2. Keep battling in the post
Nebraska just went up against one of the most physically dominant big men in the country in Illinois' Kofi Cockburn. Now the Huskers must try and match up with literally the largest challenge it will face all season in Purdue's Zach Edey......And Trevion Williams.
Nebraska will once again have to pick its poison defensively, but it won't stand a chance if it lets Edey and Williams take over down low.
3. Stay aggressive on offense
One of the best ways to make up for such a significant disadvantage in the post is by making Purdue's bigs have to watch from the bench with foul trouble.
Purdue has two elite big men to worry about, so that strategy will be a little more difficult tonight. But NU must continue to force the issue at the basket and make the Boilermakers defend without fouling.

I heard a little of the pregame while driving home a little bit ago. Kent said that Trey will be suited up, but most likely won't be playing tonight.

They can't even handle a loose ball with no one around
way to go Verge
