My impression was that he wanted to be a stretch 4, not a post 4 or 5. He hadn't shown the game to play stretch 4, and he certainly wasn't going to play that position over Isaac Copeland. I haven't watched Jacobson play this year, but when I checked the stats early on, it didn't look like his game had changed much. I wish he would have stayed, but he's probably right about not getting to play where he wanted to. Ed Morrow would have also not got to play where he wanted, because he's not a swing 3 - he's not going to be allowed to do that anywhere unless his game changes radically.Jacobson has said he wanted to be more of an offensive option, and he didn't feel that was going to happen at Nebraska. He simply wasn't willing to be the guy hammering the boards, and getting his token 6-8 a game. Looking at his production so far at ISU, he was probably right in his decision.
