Markowski: "Recovery Starts Now"

Lex just posted a photo to her IG "stories" showing her, apparently post surgery, with her leg wrapped. The caption "Recovery starts now"

I can't seem to be able to link to it unfortunately, and have no idea what happened or the nature of the surgery.

Did she play injured late in the season? If she was injured enough to potentially miss the 2025 WNBA season that would not only explain her going undrafted but also not even signed to a free agent deal for training camp.

I can (somewhat) accept her not being selected in the three round WNBA draft, but *not* being overlooked on a post-draft free agent deal. So IMO this has to be someething that would have kept her from playing this summer.

Still no specific info on the nature of Lex's injury. Can't blame her for not making that info public though.

However, a day or two after the hospital photo, she posted one of her getting some outpatient treatment. Thankfully, to my completely untrained eyes, it doesn't look like it's something that will prevent her from playing again. Plus, she just signed with ODM Sports. That's the same sports agency that represented Jordan Hooper. So, hopefully, Lex will get an opportunity to continue her basketball career soon. If she doesn't play this season, hopefully Amy can convince (pay) Lex to hang around Lincoln and help Natalie Potts and Amiah Hargrove.

I still want the Mystics to sign Lex, injury or not. If somebody just gives her an opportunity, I know she'll work as hard as she can to make it in "the W."
