Why are his shorts so high?
I noticed that they all have those higher pants. No knee protection at all. I remember what I wore back in the 80's and those giant knee pads were horrible. The players today probably love these.
So he can flex his quads...jk, but I noticed the Baylor NT this weekend had his even shorter
Rule 9-1-11-b (FR-91) ....
Knee pads must be at least ½-inch thick and must be covered by pants. Furthermore, the pants must cover the knees.
Obviously ref's ignore this rule.

Their flag throwing arms were worn out. Could reach into their pockets anymore
This is the rule at pretty much every level. It seems like the NCAA doesn't enforce it, even though it is a rule. I think in the NFL it became a point of emphasis, recently.
Glad he won this award! Could tell how pumped he was to score on the blocked punt. Had some good plays in coverage too.
By rule you have to have a knee pad. Speed players these dYs put in small ones and pull them way up. They claim that it makes them faster.

Its not that, its that his arms are so long.
Lesson learned here. Overlooked kid because of his size, small school etc.
I remember the coaches recruiting him kept hearing stories of praise about him, lots of stories, so they took a look.
