I agree, but it also means she has good enough footwork to be a setter which will prove handy in the backrow.

True, TrblShrt, but watch the back row players as you'll rarely see a routine set, rather an underhand pass due to rules restricting a back row player's contact/control of a ball while positioned on or in front of the spike line, i.e, read a ball above the top of the net. Not being negative on Boesiger at all, just noting limitations.

I played some volleyball back in the day and was caught out more than once by those pesky rules when in the backcourt. I was previously comparing setters and back row specialists in that the best of them have exceptional footwork, almost as second nature.

I played a bit and then officiated from the jr high to D2 level. I"m continually amazed with the extreme athletic abilities of the back row specialists, e.g., rocket spikes they seem to play so "easily" and then pass the ball so very accurately to the setter or on a 2nd contact being able to underhand pass it to a hitter to a point so a real attack can be done. Footwork ? Of course, their movement and positioning can be remarkable. Love those Husker VB ladies !!!
