Locker Room Problems?

Sportswriter posted about hearing White didn’t like Snow being brought in. On social media. I forget the old folks on here don’t understand how any of that works.
Link? I read a sportswriter who was speculating about the reasons White was leaving. One of his speculations was that he may not have liked Snow looking over his shoulder. Nothing about “hearsay”. Could have been a different writer though?

Both Sipple and Sean Callahan mentioned it. I will see if I can find the post.

I've read the stuff on Snow, but I always thought if White wasn't happy it was Butler coming in. You could see Butler as the guy waiting for his chance at DC, Snow was just sitting home looking at film.

Then again if there was a phone call with Snow making a suggestion, Butler saying yeah that makes sense and Rhule nodding his head in agreement White may be thinking I need to get out of here.

There are people posting on social media this is true—fingers pointing at Rhule. Said the Butler xfer is red flag and that White didn’t like Rhule brought in someone to “oversee” D like he did with DH.
I mentioned when this happened, that there were going to be some ruffled feathers over the ‘consultants’ being brought in. No one, in any job likes that. Always hard feelings.

TW was trying to get out of here before Butler or Snow were part of the equation. The only thing that kept him here after year one was the lack of an offer he was willing to take from another school. These other coaches may have increased his desire to leave. But they don’t seem to have initiated the desire.

And there's nothing wrong with that because it seems he was pretty open and honest about it. All of us fans knew this wasn't a long term gig

I never said there was something wrong with it or even implied it. I simply pointed out that he didn’t decide to leave BECAUSE of Snow and Butler’s arrival. As you say, we all knew when he got here, he wasn’t here for a long term gig. If we all knew it in year one, the arrival of Snow and Butler in year two couldn’t logically be the thing that got TW to decide he wasn’t here long term.

We got two good years out of him. He got a gig in a warmer climate in a talent rich area. Decent trade, I guess.

For the most part I agree. He was trying to take offers from other schools. But he took this offer as a coordinator. Did the Butler/Snow thing trigger his desire to move on to another coordinator job? I don’t know.

Again I’ll emphasize your point that we all knew he was probably short time because he was looking at Head Coach jobs before those guys got here. He took A coordinator position at a place that was a dungeon this year and with a coach on the hot seat in a program non-power 2. Something tells me wanted out of here pretty bad.
Whatever that want was I don’t care. Rhule did what he thought was best getting some help.

White’s gone. Good luck to him. Next.

It’s quite possible the hiring of Butler and an analyst increased TW’s desire to leave. I’m just pointing out that they didn’t cause him to want to leave. He wanted to leave for at least a head coaching position from day one. I don’t judge his desire to leave. If his goal is to be a head coach down the road, the pathway is probably easier from the DC position at FSU than at Nebraska. Talent rich environment to create a defense against offenses where the 3-3-5 will probably be ideal. Opportunity to show immediate improvement is pretty good.

But onward we go. Look forward to see if we can get a home run hire at DC to replace TW now that he’s gone.
