Lex Writing to her Little Girl Self

I did not shead any tears at all while watching this. There was merely something in my eye.

I've been a girls/WBB fan since I did stats for my HS's girls bball team and we went 23-1 (not that the 1-point loss in which the ball went in and then rolled out at the buzzer still bothers me or anything....), beat NYC powerhouse Christ the King, and were nationally ranked in the early 90s, and I started paying more attention to the Husker WBB program when players like Emily Cady and Jordan Hooper played for Connie Yori.

But IMO, this group of Huskers that's been in the program since Jaz arrived from Oregon and Lex decided to stay home and be a Husker is just special. They've endured a pandemic, off the court controversy, and IMO more injuries to key starters than any program other than UConn. Despite all that, they win. They took down Caitlin Clark. They've beaten Iowa on the road. They've taken down multiple ranked teams, they've gotten the fans to Pack PBA and, IMO anyway, increased the popularity of girls bball in Nebraska to the point where Britt Prince's recruiting was a big deal. In a couple months, only Callin Hake (the best defensive guard in the Big Ten!) will remain.

I'm going to miss Lex, and IMO the Husker program will too. As I've written before, the Mystics screwed up and didn't sign Jaz after she was released by Phoenix. I really hope they are in a position to draft Lex, and give her a real opportunity to make the team.
