Like last year at this time, all the fans were gaga over Merrit and Mills. Both very highly ranked. Now this year when fans or media talks about who will start, they are forgotten because we have some transfers that EVERYONE assumes the transfers will be ahead of them. Like last years hype is forgotten. Same with the Oline. I get the online because we need new blood, but nobody expects any of the young guys who were highly touted to win. Gottula, Brix, Tuama.......they all assume it will be the transfers that come in and start.
Across the board its thought of that way, yet history has shown that lot and lots of highly touted transfers dont pan out.

Folk, lots of the transfers wont be that good. Some will but lots wont

AC does some of his best work with his legs, hence putting himself at risk in the BIG. He’s not an over whelming physical specimen either. Most likely our backup QB’s will get playing time the question is how much? AC didn’t come to Lincoln to sit on the bench and has the creds from last season to be rated one of the top QB’s in the BIG imo. Once again hoping this will be a bust-out season for the Huskers and rack up 8 or 9 wins. One thing for sure is they will have to earn it with our schedule. I honestly believe Nebraska could be a true sleeper team this season. GBR!

Im an old school type and so I am biased against the portal transfers. There are 2 types of players, one who prides themselves at being a D1 college football player and the other who prides himself at being a husker football player. Dont get me wrong, i want the best players on the field but I want the best to come up through the ranks as huskers so I'll take the latter any day.

While I don't disagree with you, and I hope TJ pushes for the nod...AC has the mojo for a college QB that we need. I really haven't even considered any other QB besides AC as our starter. If TJ happens to beat him out, count me N!

He wouldn't risk his confidence by putting him on the bench for a season after starting games the previous. I don't think he beats out Kaelin for 2nd string.

So both teams had a 10-2 record at the end of the regular schedule, Both excellent teams, I ran a Computer program that I use its not perfect but reasonably accurate, It came back saying if these 2 Teams had played on Neutral field 1st week of December Virginia would likely have been a 3 1/2 points favorite. So what we have to go on is the Fact AC started every game at UNLV and Danny K played in 3 at a fairly equal program in Virginia. I LOVE both Players but that Starting experience differential is telling.

I didn't know Colandrea played in Virginia until recently. :picard:

I know ACC much stronger than MWC. 2025 final rankings (Coaches and AP polls), Virginia #16, UNLV .... not a single vote

BTW, 2023 Elite 11 quarterback ..... Danny Kaelin

They had a real anomaly in their schedule.

5 other ACC teams had a winning conference record. Duke was the only one they played and split the 2 games.

5 teams were .500 and they went 2-2. However, a loss to NC State was considered out of conference, so it diding count against them in the conference standings.

Then they went 4-0 against teams with losing records.

Their only win against a ranked team was FSU, that ended up 5-7.
